Chinese automaker Geely denied rumors that the company was planning to build a factory in Indonesia,Seung Ha (승하) Archives according to a September 17 report by Chinese tech news site IThome. Although Geely is assessing the potential for development in Indonesia’s new energy market, there are currently no specific plans to invest in or establish a factory in the country, the company said. Last week, Luhut Pandjaitan, a senior Indonesian minister who oversees regulations on natural resources and investment, told a seminar that Geely had given the nod to his proposal for the Chinese firm to make cars in the country under an Indonesian brand, according to a September 14 report by Reuters.
